The SuperMax supermarket limit in Puerto Rico has decided on a total lighting makeover for its newly acquired and outdated grocery inventory in San Juan.
The lighting retrofit is projected to save the aliment retailer $170,000 annually thanks to reduced energy consumption and cooling loads, according to a broadcasting release .
SuperMax decided to replace all store lighting including the ceiling lights, lighting in prep areas as well as in all cooler, freezer and advertise cases to fix the store’s poor lighting and prodigal energy consumption.
According to a recent white hang wallpaper from Nualight, more than 35 percent of energy use at food retailers is consumed by refrigeration, including evince cases, freezers, coolers, and beverage dispensers. In addition, fluorescent lighting contributes about a 25 to 50 percent inflation in total power consumed in these applications, while studies show LED lighting in refrigerated glass door displays can cut vigour consumption by up to 60 percent.
