Nicole Engelbrecht told a jury Wednesday that she woke up in a convalescent home bed in spring of 2008, after months in a coma, unable to move and told she might never lurch again.
Engelbrecht regained much of her mobility but now moves stiffly and remains in essence unable to speak. Using a keyboard and computer screen, she took the abide by resign Wednesday and testified it was Richard Kereta who severely injured her on Nov. 30, 2007.
Engelbrecht said she was driving her Toyota Predecessor toward her Putnam home when Kereta, her passenger, produced a smoking mechanism filled with marijuana and smoked it. Engelbrecht was fastidious about her new agency and disapproved.
“I was (ticked) off because I just got a new truck,” she testified, her words projected onto the divider behind Putnam County’s witness stand. “I told him to put it out or he could footway.”
After halting the vehicle, it was she who exited the vehicle. Words were exchanged and she paused to fling a shoe aimed at Kereta’s face.
